We are going to have to wait a little bit longer for the start of the Atlanta Braves' first game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023 as it was announced that tonight's contest was not going to start on time due to rain coming through.

Most of the afternoon has seen scattered showers in the metro Atlanta area. At around 6:45 PM EST, it became apparent that we may have to go into a bit of a delay as the Braves' grounds crew very hurriedly moved to put the tarp on the field.

A cursory look at the radar shows rain basically all around Atlanta and where Truist Park is is right on the fringe of where we could expect showers to be in play over the course of the evening. Clearly the grounds crew agreed and the team announced that tonight's game wasn't going to start on time.

We will keep you updated with any details on when the game tonight is expected to start (the forecast seems to show a window where the game can happen), but for now, here are some links for you to peruse so that you can properly prepare for tonight's game.

**UPDATE**

Barring the unforeseen, it looks like tonight's game will start at 8 PM EST.

Preview: Charlie Morton looks to get Braves off to strong start against Dodgers

Here's hoping we don't have to wait too long for the start of the game. These are two of the heavyweights in the National League and for the Braves, the home crowd is going to be VERY raucous if history tells us anything. There are few things as fun as rooting against the Dodgers.
