Not all the news could be good news, unfortunately.

The Atlanta Braves are celebrating another successful road trip, capped by an impressive series win over the Dodgers. It was a tough West Coast trip that provided Atlanta with its first series loss of the season. However, they pushed through and maintained baseball's best record at 28-13. It won't get easier for them as the Cubs, who have the second-best record, come to town. The Braves are certainly up to the challenge so far, but injuries haven't made it a cake walk.

Outfielder Eli White is the hero of Sunday's series win over the Dodgers. He put his body on the line to catch a rocket off the bat of Max Muncy. White slammed into the wall, and it looked like it hurt. However, he surprisingly remained in the game after his heroics. After his at-bat, he was pulled from the game. Fans learned after the game that White would undergo concussion protocol. There was an update on Monday that fans have been waiting for, but it came with an unfortunate caveat.

Shortstop Ha-Seong Kim will make his much-anticipated season debut on Tuesday at home against the Cubs. He is finally ready to return after injuring his finger during the offseason. The Braves placed White on the 7-day concussion IL.

It stinks to see White sidelined after the great job he's done for the team this year. However, Mauricio Dubon's utility will make this an easy pill to swallow. He can easily slot in at any position should the Braves need him to.

Kim performed fairly well during his brief rehab stint with a .286 average over nine games. He had eight hits, including one double, one RBI, six walks, and four strikeouts. Not anything crazy, but he showed he can still hit and stayed healthy. That's all Atlanta could have hoped for. Having him back strengthens the bench immediately, but there's also the wrinkle of Sean Murphy's status to consider.

The Braves won't have an update for Murphy until Tuesday, according to Braves insider Mark Bowman. But that is a problem for another day. Hopefully, Kim can stay healthy to provide the team with some meaningful at-bats and solid defense.
