The Atlanta Braves accomplished their mission against the Dodgers this weekend. After dropping a close game on Friday, the Braves shut down the vaunted LA offense and took the last two games to win a very, very tough road series. Bryce Elder was terrific until the very end of his start, and the bullpen, other than Tyler Kinley, held things down on Sunday to secure the win. However, not ALL the news on Sunday was good for the Braves.
Things did get dicey later in the rubber match for Atlanta. Robert Suarez came in out of the bullpen and inherited multiple runners on base with Max Muncy at the plate. Muncy crushed a ball to right-center, but Eli White made a tremendous catch before crashing into the wall and clearly being shaken up. Later on, the Dodgers got a free baserunner in the seventh on catcher's interference, where Sean Murphy's glove got hit by a swing from Hyeseong Kim.
Both players were pulled from the game early, and afterwards, Braves manager Walt Weiss gave an update that was a bit of a mixed bag.
Couple injury updates from Walt Weiss postgame: Eli White in concussion protocol; Sean Murphy left after getting hit on the hand/wrist on the catcher’s interference

Sean Murphy and Eli White are banged up after the Braves' series win over Dodgers
The good news is that neither player seems to be dealing with anything too serious at the moment. White stayed in initially after crashing into the wall, but got pulled and is now in concussion protocol. All signs at the moment point to him being okay, though we will have to wait for the results of tests before knowing whether or not he will need to go on the concussion IL.
Murphy's situation is particularly frustrating, given that he just returned from the injured list. Thankfully, current reports are that X-rays on his finger were negative, and Weiss gave a strong impression that he will be fine, but it is still a situation worth monitoring. Thankfully, the Braves have a day off on Monday to get healed up.
It's good that the Braves avoided anything too serious here, as they are tantalizingly close to getting truly healthy again. Ha-Seong Kim's return is imminent following finger surgery, and while he may take a little longer than expected, Ronald Acuña Jr. seems to be on track to get back on the field soon as well.
Next up are the Cubs coming to town, and they have been among the better teams in MLB to start the season. One hopes that the series goes as well or better than the one the Braves just played against the Dodgers...but with a couple fewer injuries.
