Well, the end of the 2025 season is going significantly better than the start of it did. After throttling the Tigers over the weekend, the Braves find themselves on an eight game win streak heading into the final week of the season. This Braves roster is going to look a lot different next season, but it is nice to see the current incarnation playing well for a change.

That said, that doesn't mean the news regarding this season has stopped. Atlanta is still somehow making waiver claims as recently as this weekend and there is still some unfinished business to attend to as the 2025 season winds down.

Braves News: Drake Baldwin's is making a strong last minute push to win Rookie of the Year

The NL Rookie of the Year race is shaping up to be close and Drake Baldwin is right in the middle of the discussion. It felt like he had let the Cubs' Cade Horton surpass him over the last month and a half or so, but Baldwin has turned things up over the last week with a 9-24 stretch including three homers over his last six games.

Horton's ERA may make him seem like the favorite right now and that may be true, but ROY voters seem to like voting for position players over arms and Baldwin is probably the top bat in the running. This is going to be close and hopefully voters look past Horton's surface level numbers and Baldwin gets the nod.

Braves News: Charlie Morton's career may come to a close after the 2025 season

The Braves beat up on Charlie Morton in the series opener agains the Tigers and the end result of that was Morton getting DFA'd by Detroit. Unfortunately, it sounds like that may have also been the last start of Morton's career as USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported that Morton may retire at the end of the 2025 season. Enjoy retirement if that is what you decide, Charlie. Despite how it ended, you had a hell of a career and have earned a nice long rest.

Braves News: Ronald Acuña Jr. is looking like his former self

Ronald Acuña Jr. came back from his calf injury and was clearly being tentative in all aspects of his game. He wasn't swinging with full intent and he was pulling up on balls hit to him in the outfield that he would normally be going full out to grab. There was no question that either he wasn't fully healed up yet and/or he was afraid of getting hurt again.

Thankfully, Acuña Jr. has gotten back to doing what he does best. Over his last 11 games, Acuña Jr. is slashing .341/.460/.585 with three homers and a couple stolen bases. One just hopes that Acuña can now stay healty and carry this over to next season.
