The Atlanta Braves have been woefully bad this season, but they're on a nice hot streak here at the end. Atlanta has won five straight games heading into the final nine games of the season. The first three of those games are against the Tigers on the road.

Now, you would think most teams feel pretty confident in their ability to handle beating the Braves this year. They have helped numerous teams break their losing streaks and get back on track. Some Tigers fans seem to be a little worried about playing the Braves this weekend.

Detroit has been scuffling a bit, and their lead in the AL Central is down to 3.5 games over Cleveland. The last three series of the year are against the Braves, Guardians, and Red Sox. It's going to keep Tigers fans on the edge of their seats until the end.

Braves could take the Tigers down with them in upcoming series this weekend

While the Braves are riding a hot streak, we know how quickly that can end. Tigers fans are probably also having some bad memories of when the Braves kept Detroit out of the playoffs in 2016 after taking two of three games at Turner Field. Atlanta was doing a similar thing before that series as well. They had won 10 of 11 games before that final series against Detroit.

The 2025 Tigers have no margin for error, and the Braves have suddenly found themselves in the position to play spoiler for a talented playoff hopeful. Detroit will face Elder, Wentz, and Strider this weekend. We all know two of these starts could go sideways.

Atlanta's offense will take on Charlie Morton, Keider Montero, and Casey Mize. There's a chance the Braves send Tigers fans into a doom spiral if they win the series this weekend. They'll immediately turn around and hit the road against the Guardians (who just swept them at home) and finish off with the Red Sox, who hold on to the final AL Wild Card spot right now.

Braves fans are familiar with this feeling of dread, expecting the worst-case scenario. There's a strange comfort to knowing we don't have to worry about that this year.
