After concluding the last infield position earlier this week, we now shift toward the outfield where the Atlanta Braves could see numerous players selected in the 2024 MLB Draft later this month.

With a selection in the first round also a possibility as well, here are three outfielders in particular that the Braves should consider targeting in the upper rounds this July.

5 outfielders the Atlanta Braves should target in 2024 MLB Draft

Vance Honeycutt (North Carolina)

With outfield prospects such as Braden Montgomery and James Tibbs likely going in the top half of the first round, the next biggest outfield name to watch for when it comes to the Braves might just be Honeycutt. A collegiate prospect out of North Carolina, Honeycutt slashed .293/.412/.638 with 65 HR, 170 RBI, and 76 SB across the past three seasons with the Tar Heels, and is an intriguing player with tools such as field, power, and run that all are considered as above-average.

Ryan Waldschmidt (Kentucky)

A player who has been mocked to Atlanta often in the first round is Waldschmidt, who also comes via the collegiate ranks at Kentucky. Waldschmidt, who is one of the top hitting outfielders in this draft, has spent the last two seasons at Kentucky after he began his college career at Charleston Southern, and is coming off a breakout 2024 season where he slashed .333/.469/.610 with 14 HR, 46 RBI, and 25 SB.

Griffin Burkholder (Freedom, VA)

One prep name to watch for in particular might be Burkholder, a West Virginia commit who attends Freedom High School in Virginia. The talented outfielder has tools that grade at-least average across the board, headlined by his plus-speed, and is likely to come off the board at some point in the first two-or-three rounds.

Dylan Dreiling (Tennessee)

Another name to keep an eye on in the second-to-third round is Dreiling, who is coming off a stellar two years at Tennessee in which he slashed a combined .328/.452/.689 with 30 HR, 95 RBI, and five SB. Dreiling is also coming off a stellar 2024 season for the national champions in which he slashed .342/.459/.715 with 23 HR, 75 RBI, and four SB.

Terrence Kiel II (Pace Academy, GA)

We conclude with a prep prospect from the state of Georgia in Kiel, who attends Pace Academy in Atlanta. An elite athlete who is also a three-star prospect for football, the Texas A&M baseball commit is one of the fastest players in this draft, and is coming off a strong senior season in which he slashed .500/.591/.826 with two HR, 31 RBI, and 33 SB.

In addition to those five mentioned above, here are a few other outfielders the Atlanta Braves could target in the 2024 MLB Draft: Dakota Jordan (Mississippi State), Braylon Payne (Elkins, TX), Kavares Tears (Tennessee)

With each likely to be selected within the first couple of rounds in the 2024 MLB Draft, will any of the names mentioned above become Atlanta Braves?
