While the sample size has certainly been short, we already have a few takeaways from the action so far this spring involving the Atlanta Braves. It's easy to have an overreaction to some of these small sample size statistics, but some players are getting high praise from their coaches as well.
One of those takeaways has been the performance of a few players in particular, each of which have certainly impressed in their own right so far this spring. Here are those three names, along with what each have done up to this point. (Stats as of Monday, March 4)
3 Atlanta Braves who have impressed so far during spring training
OF Forrest Wall
One of the biggest talking points surrounding Braves spring training has been the performance of Wall, who is certainly making his case for a spot on the Opening Day roster. Across seven games, the outfielder is slashing a combined .462/.533/1.154 (6-for-13 offensively) with three HR, nine RBI, and one SB.
LHP Chris Sale
A new face to the Braves organization, Sale has certainly impressed during his limited amount of action in an Atlanta uniform. Having made two starts, the veteran left-hander owns a 0.00 ERA with a 9:2 K:BB ratio across 5.2 IP. And yes, his slider still looks downright filthy.
SS David Fletcher
Another new face to the organization who has impressed is Fletcher, who is also competing for a spot on the Braves roster to begin the season. Across six games, Fletcher is slashing .500/.500/.571 (7-for-14) with three RBI and one SB.
