If the Atlanta Braves are not going to be in the playoffs, fans can all get behind rooting against some of Atlanta's biggest rivals from the past and present. So far, that has been very fruitful as not only did the Mets collapse and miss the postseason, but the Yankees have been throttled by the Blue Jays in the first two games of the ALDS and now the Phillies have been pushed to the brink of elimination as well.

Unfortunately, one team that Braves fans hate is going to emerge from this series between the Dodgers and Phillies. While the entire stadium being swallowed into the earth would be the ideal outcome, that does mean that Atlanta fans "can't lose" here and right now, it appears as though Philadelphia could be bounced soon after a close loss in Game 2 of the NLDS.

Given the city's fans' reputation, it is hardly surprising that Philly fans are losing their minds at the possibility of another season without a World Series. However, what has been particularly fun is that Philadelphia broadcasters are melting down as well. Not only are Phillies postgame analysts fighting right in the middle of segments, but radio personalities are now sending their rants about the team far and wide.

Braves fans have to be reveling in all of the pain and suffering of Phillies fans right now

This is some quality stuff right here. In the linked post, you have Ruben Amaro Jr. and the rest of the Phillies broadcast team yelling at each other over whether Rob Thomson could have pinch run in a situation and about Bryson Stott bunting. Clearly tempers are starting to flare as the Phillies spiral out of control and when you look at the five minuted screed Hunter Brody made, it comes across as only a slightly less insane version of what Frank the Tank does after every Mets game.

In fairness, some of the criticisms being thrown the Phillies way and causing fans to boo them during a playoff game are pretty accurate. Rob Thomson's decision-making in this series against the Dodgers has cost Philly dearly and has bailed out Dave Roberts from some suspect moves as well. It is also true that the Phillies' aging stars have not played well and if they don't start playing up to their pay grades, this is going to be a short series.

As for the Braves, they just have to be loving seeing this unfold. Yes, the Phillies are still a good team and were certainly better than Atlanta this year, but it also does feel like we are watching the Phillies' window close in front of our eyes. Zack Wheeler is injured with no guarantee that he will bounce back, Aaron Nola looks like a shadow of his former self, Kyle Schwarber has stunk in this series and is about to leave in free agency, and Bryce Harper is clearly on the decline. However, this series ends, those things will remain true.

As painful as watching this must be for Phillies fans, it is just absolutely delightful for Braves Country.
