The Atlanta Braves have had a series to forget against the White Sox thus far. While the pitching has been mostly okay, the offense has failed to come up with the big hits needed to win a pair of close games and now they have to deal with the absence of Ronald Acuña Jr. for the foreseeable future. However, it would still be pretty great if they could escape Chicago without getting swept, but the weather is not making that quest any easier.
On Thursday, the Braves are (hopefully) sending Martin Perez to the mound in hopes that he will be able to help stop the bleeding after a pair of losses. If Atlanta is going to put up a respectable showing, they are going to have to slow down the newly called up Braden Montgomery, who has been an absolute menace this series.
Of course, that only matters if the game is actually being played and the forecast for the game began the day looking very grim, it only got worse, and now we are officially in a rain delay.
**UPDATE: 8:43 PM EST**
Unfortunately, the forecast did not improve enough to try and get this game in tonight. This one has been postponed and will be made up on August 20. Atlanta now heads out on the road again for a weekend series against the division-rival Mets.

Braves vs. White Sox Rain Delay, 6/11/26: When will the game get started?
With this being the last game that these two teams play against one another this season, you can bet that they are going to try and get this game in tonight and try to avoid rescheduling just one game for later in the season. While the rain does seem like it will stick around in the area for a while, it does clear up after an hour or two. The only question is if that will clear out too late for Atlanta stay in town and not be on their way to New York to face the Mets on Friday. Odds are good that they will play tonight, but there are no guarantees here and it could take a couple hours.
We will keep this post updated as more information becomes available about the delay and any estimated game start times. You may want to get comfortable, as this delay could last a while. However, that we are in a delay and didn't go straight to a postponement is a decent sign that officials think that there is at least a chance that the weather will clear up and they will be able to get this game in.
