It has continued to be an unremarkable season for the Atlanta Braves. There have been a lot of things to be frustrated with, but there's some good sprinkled in. The draft was a great success for the Braves. There have been great prospect performances this year, and some exciting on-field moments.
Missing the playoffs for the first time in a while is going to sting, but that's baseball. There are some things to look forward to in the coming years, and hopefully, they will help address some glaring needs in the offseason to settle everyone's nerves.
Let's take a look at some recent rumblings around Braves Country, including some impressive prospect performances, rehab assignments, and more.
Braves News: Prospect David McCabe is pushing toward a promotion with recent success
Atlanta's farm system touts some impressive talent, and McCabe is no different. The switch-hitting third baseman was drafted in 2022 and played third/first base during his college career. He missed most of 2024 with an injury, but he's turned it on in 2025 with Double-A Columbus.
He continued his great season on Wednesday night as he was 3-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBI. This brings his average to .286 on the season with nine homers, 22 doubles, 47 RBI, and an .806 OPS. McCabe should see a promotion to Triple-A here soon if he keeps this pace up.
The fourth homer in 5 games, and second of today, for David McCabe whose OPS is back up to .807 on the year. By far his best year as a professional.

Braves News: Chris Sale starts journey back to the mound with Triple-A start
Braves fans have been eagerly awaiting Sale's return to the mound after fracturing his ribs before the All-Star break. However, he is finally working his way back with a rehab assignment with the Gwinnett Stripers.
The goal for his start was to throw at least 50 pitches or three innings. Sale was able to complete two innings with one run allowed on three hits. He walked two batters and struck out two on 40 pitches (23 strikes). Braves insider David O'Brien stated Sale will make a couple more starts before coming off the IL. They'd like him to work up to throwing around 80 pitches before that happens.

Braves News: Brian Snitker plans to go with six-man rotation for as long as possible
It's been a nightmare for the Braves' rotation this season. The entire rotation that began the season is injured right now. That is not what the team hoped for. However, that is the hand they were dealt, and they have to adjust. Right now, they plan on running with a six-man rotation to help cover as many innings as possible. This includes Carrasco, Elder, Fedde, Strider, Waldrep, and Wentz. One of these starters will be gone once Chris Sale returns from the IL, and my money is on Carrasco.
