The Atlanta Braves were quite busy on Thursday afternoon as option decision deadline day forced some movement on the 40-man roster. However, Ozzie Albies and Pierce Johnson weren't the only players in the news recently as we got news surrounding Atlanta's 2025 saves leader.
Francys Romero reported on Wednesday afternoon that Raisel Iglesias' market is expected to feature plenty of suitors, and the veteran is also apparently seeking a two-year deal. Iglesias struggled to begin 2025, but his 1.76 second half ERA should be enough to make a few teams offer a two-year deal even with Iglesias set to turn 36. With the option declines of Johnson and Tyler Kinley as well as Iglesias' free agent status, the Braves' bullpen could look very different in 2026 under new pitching coach Jeremy Hefner.

The 35-year-old posted a 1.76 ERA in 30.1 IP in the second half of 2025 and was August’s Reliever of the Month. He’s expected to seek a two-year deal.
Braves lose Jake Fraley to waiver claim, pick up Michael Siani as replacement
With all of the players that had to come off the 60-day IL, the Braves were always going to have to get creative to clear up some roster space. Atlanta accomplished that via the declined club options, but their outfield depth took a big hit when Jake Fraley was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Rays. Fraley only appeared in nine games with Atlanta last season before an oblique injury shut him down for the season.
Thankfully, Alex Anthopoulos was able to replenish the loss of Fraley by picking up Michael Siani off waivers from the Cardinals. Siani is a light-hitting outfielder who can play all three spots with above average defense. Siani has a .221/.277/.270 career slash line, with most of his 344 career AB's coming in 2024 with St. Louis.
Siani certainly doesn't have the upside of Fraley, but his ability to cover all three outfield spots (with strong defense) is valuable. Thursday featured a ton of movement from the Braves, and knowing Anthopouols' desire to move quickly we shouldn't be shocked if Atlanta keeps churning out transactions during the month of November. Stay tuned here at House That Hank Built as we will have all the latest news and rumblings around what will hopefully be a busy offseason for the Braves.
