Spring training baseball is in full swing at the moment, and each day we get more news from Braves happenings down in Florida. For the most part things have been pretty solid for Atlanta and their abundance of players in camp. Spring training results certainly aren't everything, but more than a few players have gotten off to encouraging starts in the first couple weeks of game action.

As the regulars begin to slowly increase their workload, Atlanta's front office continues to trim the roster down closer to the 26-man version they will carry to San Diego on March 27. Yesterday, the lone roster cut was infielder Jose Devers (cousin of Red Sox star Rafael Devers) bringing the total to 48 players remaining in Braves' camp.

Braves announce 25 city road trip experience for fans

Recently the Braves announced the return of the popular Braves Country Road Trip ahead of the 2025 season. This year's edition will feature stops in 25 cities across the southeast, with each stop offering a unique experience for fans.

The experience also features some All-Star Game hype for fans to get excited for this seasons midsummer classic in Atlanta. Braves fans also have the chance at some exciting free giveaways like hats, pennants, stickers and koozies.

Sean Murphy describes latest injury as unfortunate case of bad luck

This morning we got our first glimpse of how Braves catcher, Sean Murphy is reacting to his latest injury. In Gabe Burns article on the AJC, Murphy spoke on the rib injury being unfortunate, but "Nothing to be frustrated at, stuff happens."

Murphy has been a hit by pitch magnet during his Braves career, but this is the first time he's going to have to go on the injured list after taking a 95 mph fastball to the ribs. It's for sure a disappointment for Murphy who was looking to bounce back after his toughest season as a pro in 2024.

Regardless, it appears the Braves are going to hand the catching reigns to top prospect Drake Baldwin while Murphy recovers to begin the season. Baldwin traveled with the team to catch projected Opening Day starter Chris Sale the other day, and afterwards got an encouraging review from the Braves ace.

Baldwin will get his chance early on, but given the short-term timeline on Murphy's injury don't be shocked if the Braves primary backstop comes back with a vengeance in 2025. It sounds like Murphy's not letting a bit of bad luck derail his hopes for a strong 2025 campaign.
