Braves legends set to take Futures Game by storm after coaching staff reveal

The Atlanta Braves have the pleasure of hosting the 2025 MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park. It's shaping up to be an exciting baseball week, and it's only two months away. That excitement keeps building as more announcements are made.

On Monday, Major League Baseball announced the coaching staffs for the 2025 All-Star Futures Game. This game, which will feature some of MLB's best prospects, takes place on July 12, 2025.

The Braves have featured some great talent at the Futures Game over the years. Spencer Schwellenbach appeared in the event just two years ago, and he's now one of baseball's best pitchers.

Braves legends to lead MLB's top prospects in the 2025 MLB Futures Game

A couple of stars from the 1995 World Series team will take on manager roles for the National League and American League squads. Hall of Fame third baseman Chipper Jones will take the reins for the NL while two-time All-Star Marquis Grissom will do so for the AL.

Jones and Grissom will be joined by a lot of Braves alumni, including legendary players such as Fred McGriff, Dale Murphy, Andruw Jones, and Tim Hudson. You can view the entire list of coaches here.

It's no surprise that Jones and Grissom were selected as managers for this event. Chipper has a track record of success as indicated by his career .303 average, 468 homers, and a 141 wRC+. He will be a huge asset for the NL team as he has a vast knowledge of the game of baseball.

Grissom is known for catching the final out of the 1995 World Series and was huge during that postseason with a .385 average with three home runs and a 1.012 OPS. Another well-known name in Braves Country who has been a mentor for many young players, including Michael Harris II.

They will be joined by other notable former Braves players, including Nick Markakis, Peter Moylan, Johnny Estrada, Ryan Klesko, Tyler Flowers, and Mark DeRosa. These prospects are going to receive some valuable knowledge from some of the game's best.

It will be interesting to see how they manage against one another and whose squad comes out on top. This is an exciting event that fans definitely don't want to miss out on.
