Braves legend Chipper Jones dumbfounded at MLB's handling of dangerous Yankees fans

The viral World Series moment had everyone talking. However, the way MLB handled the situation left Chipper Jones speechless.

In a viral moment that has now transcended throughout the entire sports world, there have been a plethora of reactions in varying degrees. I'm of course talking about the moment a deranged Yankees fan ripped the ball from Mookie Betts glove in game four of the World Series.

Thankfully, that fan was ejected from the game and didn't get to witness his favorite team comeback and win the game.

Sadly, the response from Major League Baseball was softer than charmin. Apparently MLB decided to ASK the New York Yankees to ban the idiotic interfering fan from attending game five. Yes, you read that right. Major League Baseball asked a team to ban a fan.

Rather than take initiative and do want everyone wanted and give this fool a permanent ban, the sport simply asked the Yankees organization to prevent this fan from attending game five. The ridiculousness of the entire situation drew the ire of Atlanta Braves Hall of Famer Chipper Jones.

Chipper puzzled at MLB seeking permission to ban obnoxious Yankees fan

Like all of us, Chipper found the response from MLB mysterious to say the least. Chipper's relationship with New York fans is well documented, and this latest instance surely isn't going to change his mind anytime soon.

It's sad to see these type of moments tarnish what otherwise has been an entertaining 2024 World Series. It's a showdown filled with superstars on each roster, and historic performances in a couple occasions. Unfortunately, we are instead spending time talking about this poor excuse of a "fan."

It's the last thing Major League Baseball wants to have attention around this time of the year. Although the season is now over, let's hope MLB gets this one right eventually and bans this guy from every stadium for life.
