The Atlanta Braves have yet to hire their replacement for Brian Snitker. Many other teams had openings, and they've already made their decisions. However, Atlanta is definitely one of the most desirable openings left.
Alex Anthopoulos has stated that if the front office does its job right, the media won't know anything until the decision has been made. So, that leaves us with nothing but speculation to consider who the next manager might be.
Braves insider David O'Brien seems to believe the delay in hiring a manager isn't as much about considering a plethora of options. His reasoning for why Atlanta hasn't made a decision yet is that their preferred replacement is part of the World Series.
My guess is the delay in #Braves hiring a manager has less to do with casting a wide net than with waiting for Danny Lehmann to finish bench-coaching w/ the Dodgers in the WS. I think he’s the one they want, and it would signal a commitment to cutting-edge analytics and process.

Braves beat writer David O'Brien thinks manager hiring delay is because Danny Lehmann may be frontrunner, but World Series is in the way
Many fans are probably wondering who Danny Lehmann is, and why Atlanta would be so interested in hiring him. It's a great question to ask. Lehmann currently serves as the bench coach with the Dodgers, and there is a previous link to AA.
Lehmann was an advance video scout for LA when AA served as Vice President of Baseball Operations from 2016 to 2017. The pair have apparently remained in contact over the years since Anthopoulos joined the Braves.
O'Brien also mentions that Lehmann joining the Braves would signal they are committing to a much more analytic driven process. Atlanta's last few managers were much more on the old school side of things. We know the front office is big on analytics, so it makes sense they may want a manager who would buy into it more.
MLB.com's Mark Bowman also mentioned Lehmann as a strong fit on paper for Atlanta, alongside Ryan Flaherty and George Lombard. The last two names mentioned are already available, so if they were the ones Atlanta had at the top of their list, they'd probably be hired by now.
Lehmann is a former minor league and independent league catcher. He's had great success with the Dodgers and has learned what a winning team requires. That experience could make him the perfect addition for the Atlanta Braves.
Whether or not they actually hire him, they're clearly waiting until the World Series ends to at least interview him. They would be wise to do so. Regardless, it feels like whoever is hired will have ties to Atlanta or Anthopoulos.
