While the Atlanta Braves have been able to avoid the bulk of the TV deal nonsense that many teams in MLB have had to deal with, but they haven't been completely immune. A carrier dispute left many Braves fans unable to watch games on Comcast for a good three months before the sides got their acts together.

Fortunately, those issues seem to be behind the Braves for the moment thanks in large part to the fact that the team prints money for distributors which made keeping their existing TV deal in place possible. Braves fans watch a lot of Braves games and as long as that remains true, they will be able to make money on the TV market.

In fact, in an era where many teams are seeing their distribution channels shrink, Atlanta's is actually growing. In an announcement on Tuesday, the Braves revealed that fans will have even more options available to them as to how to watch Braves games in 2025.

Braves announce expanded streaming options for 2025 spring training and regular season

A good chunk of this announcement is information we already have. We already knew that FanDuel (formerly Bally) was going to have the rights to most regular season games and would be airing some spring training games. We also knew that Gray Media would be airing a limited number of Braves game in 2025, although the fact that they will also be airing 10 spring training games is a nice touch. As usual, the Braves Radio Network will be the team's exclusive radio home.

The streaming options are where things get interesting. Not only will all FanDuel broadcasted Braves games be available on the FanDuel app (even if you are not a cable customer) for $19.99 a month. If you don't have cable and don't want to subscribe directly with the app, there is also going to be an option for you to subscribe via Amazon's Prime Video if you prefer. The details of that launch have not been released yet, but those should be coming soon. For you Braves A-listers out there, you will also get a coupon for three months of FanDuel streaming free which is a nice touch.

For many Braves fans, this is all they have ever wanted. They don't want to pay for expensive cable packages that include a bunch of channels they don't want and they definitely don't want to sign on with any option that could go dark suddenly if litigation becomes a problem. Braves fans just want to watch Braves games and this direct streaming option seems like a great place to start letting that happen.
