Atlanta Braves hitters wearing the wrong jersey
Chipper Jones, cream alternate jersey
Just weeks before announcing his retirement, Chipper Jones showed off the Braves new alternate cream home jersey. These jerseys became a fan favorite during its 10 years, but #10 only wore them in his final season.
This didn't mean that he wouldn't have his moments in the jersey, however. On September 2, Jones came up to the plate with the Braves down two runs and down to their final out. On. 1-1 count, Jones took a 95 MPH fastball over the right field fence for a three-run walk-off bomb.
This ended up being Jones's final homer, and it was hit in the cream jerseys.
Brian McCann, 2019 alternates
Brian McCann debuted the very first year the Braves first introduced the first iteration of their red alternate jersey. His first tenure also saw the introduction of the all navy alternate and the cream jerseys.
When McCann rejoined the Braves, the team also happened to introduce the second version of the navy jersey, as well as introduce a new version of the red jersey.
2019 ended up being McCann's final season, making it the only season he wore these jerseys. He still managed to have an iconic moment in the Friday reds, though.
Ronald Acuña Jr, 2018 navy alternates
While Tom Glavine and John Smoltz only wore the all navy alternate in the first season of its existance, Ronald Acuña Jr. only wore that version in the final year of its existence.
Of course, the eventual 2018 Rookie of the Year played in way more games than Glavine and Smoltz in the jersey and had his first homer in the jersey, it still looks strange six years later.
