Truist Park gets top honors from fans as Braves stadium gambit continues to pay off
The fan experience at Truist Park continues to flourish for the Braves.
When the Atlanta Braves moved to Truist Park, fans were rightfully bummed about moving from Turner Field. There were so many memorable moments held there over the years.
Truist Park opened originally as "SunTrust Park" on April 14, 2017, and immediately grew on fans. Opening the stadium alongside The Battery provided fans with shopping, food, and concert experiences. This gave fans much more to do on game days and a reason to show up early.
The fan experience at Truist Park is one of the best in baseball and has only improved over the years. In 2024, Atlanta welcomed 3,011,765 fans (37,647 average per game) through the gates, which was the fifth-most in baseball behind the Padres, Phillies, Yankees, and Dodgers.
The Braves received high marks in MLB's 2024 Voice of the Consumer (VOC) Program. This program's rankings are based on league-wide fan surveys, which rate franchises on categories like in-game entertainment, parking, food and beverage, and interactions with gameday staffers.
The organization ranked first in MLB in three categories: Overall Guest Experience, Concessions, and Non-Game Entertainment (kids activities, pregame content, scoreboard, music, and games). If you've been to a game at Truist Park, you probably understand why Atlanta would rank so high. The organization prioritizes fans having the best experience possible.
If there's one thing fans would like to see improved, it would probably be concession prices. The Braves have fair prices compared to other teams, for the most part. However, if they considered lowering them a bit, it surely wouldn't hurt.
Atlanta also ranked highly in Parking Ingress (entry), Parking Egress (exit), and Seat view. These are three very important parts of the fan experience, and there isn't a single bad seat at Truist Park.
In the Braves press release, the team stated: "This marks the second time in Atlanta franchise history that the team has had over 3 million fans in attendance for three or more consecutive seasons, the first time being 1997-2000."
Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves President & CEO, stated the organization is fortunate to have a "passionate and loyal fanbase." Braves Country spans many states, and they know how important it is to provide those fans with a quality experience that will keep them coming back often.
Hannah Basinger, Atlanta's Senior Vice President of Operations, let fans know they will always consider how best to serve everyone who enters Truist Park's gates. She stated, "From season ticket holders to families bringing their children to their first game, we will continuously strive to deliver the best experience in all of sports.”
Braves fans are fortunate to have an organization that seems to truly value them. Whether the team wins or loses, fans know they will always leave with a memorable experience.
