The Atlanta Braves are not strangers to playing games in unusual locations. Back in 2016, Atlanta and the Marlins made history by playing at Fort Bragg to rave reviews and MLB has continued that experimentation with using other venues ever since. However, the announcement in August that the Braves and Reds would be playing at Bristol Motor Speedway was wild even by modern standards.
Not only does the game break new ground playing a game at a NASCAR track, it is also the first AL or NL game ever to be played in the state of Tennessee, although that feels like it could change pretty soon if Nashville does indeed end up getting a MLB team in the coming years. Given the novelty and introduction to a new-ish market, interest in the game itself is incredibly high.
Fortunately, fans will get their chance to buy their tickets to the Braves-Reds matchup at Bristol soon as tickets are set to go on sale this week.
Tickets for Braves game at Bristol Motor Speedway go on sale on Thursday
For those Braves fans that want to attend the game (of which there will be many so don't wait), tickets to the game go on sale at 10 AM on Thursday, December 5th, 2024. As of this moment in time, there isn't official word on how many tickets are going to be made available for the public, but supplies will be limited and we can assure you that if you wait to buy tickets on the secondary market, they will not be cheap.
The game itself will take place on August 2, 2025 between the Braves and Reds which is a fun matchup regardless of where the game was played. In theory, the Braves will be fully healthy by then and are likely to be among the top NL contenders next season and Cincinnati has Elly De La Cruz and other exciting young players being shepherded by legendary new manager Terry Francona.
If trends hold, the crowd at Bristol for this game will be nuts as was the case at Fort Bragg as well as last year's Rickwood Field game. In addition to just excited baseball fans, the game is likely to be heavily attended by memorabilia collectors looking for balls/programs/mementos from the one-off game at Bristol. In short, if you want to go, you will want to be ready and refreshing your screen on Thursday morning.
