The Atlanta Braves have a long and storied history with the MVP award. In franchise history, there have been eight Braves winners (receiving nine awards total): Ronald Acuña Jr. (2023), Freddie Freeman (2020), Chipper Jones (1999), Terry Pendleton (1991), Dale Murphy (1982 and 1983), Hank Aaron (1957), Bob Elliot (1947), and Johnny Evers (1914). However, things get a lot tougher to remember when you start looking at all of the Braves players that have ever received an MVP vote.

Sure, there are some obvious close calls that Braves fans are still made about, and if you just go through the players whose numbers the Braves have retired, you can get a lot of the list checked off. However, only the true Braves diehards have much of a chance of conquering this Sporcle quiz of all of the Braves players who have received MVP votes since 1990.

Can you name every Braves player to receive an MVP vote?

Again, getting some of the obvious names like Aaron, Murph, both of the Joneses, and the Big Three gets you most of the way there. However, since the cut-off is 1990, there are more than a couple current members of the Braves roster who also qualify, not to mention some former Braves players that are still active with other teams.

Maybe you can get the big names that everyone knows, and some educated guesses involving current players can help. However, if you want to come up with the three other Braves players that got MVP votes the year Pendleton won, or some of the other, more esoteric players that qualify, you are going to have to really dig deep and think. Even with a somewhat narrow 36-year field of candidates, there are more than you think there are.

Once you finish taking the quiz, let us know on Facebook or Twitter/X how many names you came up with in the time allowed. This may look like an easy quiz, and perhaps the first 85% or so of it is, but getting that last 10-15% of the Braves players that qualify will put anyone to the test.
