Atlanta Braves fans know just how lucky they are to cheer for a historically successful franchise. There have been so many top talents to come through the organization over the years. Some of those players have been generational talents such as Hank Aaron and Chipper Jones among many, many others.
It's hard to imagine another player could come close to either of those two. However, Ronald Acuña Jr. is doing his best to ensure it happens. He's already shattered records and has become one of baseball's best as long as he is . He's played so well, in fact, that he's knocking on the door of becoming immortalized next to Hammerin' Hank.
Ronald Acuña Jr. is approaching milestone that only Hank Aaron surpassed in Braves history
Acuña Jr. is 14 home runs shy of becoming the second player in Braves franchise history with 200 or more homers and 200 or more stolen bases in their career. Hank Aaron is the first to accomplish this feat. He had 733 homers and 240 stolen bases with the Braves. As Braves insider Grant McAuley pointed out, his final 22 homers came with the Brewers.
Only 6 active players are 200-200 club members: Mike Trout, Andrew McCutchen, Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor, Jose Altuve, & Christian Yelich.

Ramirez could become the only active 300-300 club member with 15 HR and 13 SB in 2026. No one else is remotely close in both categories.
This incredible feat will happen for Acuña Jr. in 2026. It's wild to think he's going to reach that mark despite missing essentially two full seasons due to injury. Once he accomplishes this, he will join Jose Altuve and Bobby Abreu as the third Venezuelan-born player to reach the 200-200 career mark.
McAuley also pointed out that only six active players are currently members of this exclusive club. It includes Mike Trout, Andrew McCutchen, Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor, Jose Altuve, and Christian Yelich. That is some elite company to share. The only thing that could keep Acuña from reaching that milestone is injury. Braves fans are praying that doesn't happen. A healthy Acuña is a danger to the rest of baseball.
The last time he was fully healthy, Acuña Jr. terrorized the league with a .337 average, including 35 doubles, 41 homers, 73 stolen bases, and a 171 wRC+. This was one of the best seasons fans have seen from any player, which culminated in a unanimous MVP selection.
With how well he's played in the Venezuelan Winter League, Acuña Jr. seems poised for another MVP run. It's hard to imagine he won't have a chance if he's completely healthy. He will also have a nice head start with competitive games playing in the World Baseball Classic.
