2025 has been a snake-bitten season from the start for the Atlanta Braves, and nothing has gone right. There have been a plethora of injuries to derail things, along with dreadful underperformance from the offense and the bullpen.

Atlanta Braves fans have been wary to find out how severe Ronald Acuña Jr.'s injury was. Acuna exited Tuesday's game against the Royals after he appeared to be limping while attempting to catch a ball in the outfield.

He tried to stay in the game but was quickly removed as Atlanta wants to be cautious with their star player. That's why it shocked everyone when it was revealed he tweaked something on Monday, and the team still let him play the next day.

That doesn't seem like a wise decision in a lost season. We admire Acuña for always wanting to be on the field, but it's important that he not play and risk another season-ending injury. Fans learned after the game that he was placed on the 10-day IL with inflammation in his right Achilles.

Acuña underwent an MRI on Wednesday, and it was revealed he was diagnosed with a Grade 1 lower-right calf strain. Thankfully, it is not the feared Achilles injury or even a partial tear and we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

According to Braves insider David O'Brien, Acuña will be out for at least 2 to 3 weeks. It's encouraging that it's not a bigger injury that will end his season. However, it may be worth letting him take longer than the three-week timeline suggestion.

The season is basically over, and there will be no playoffs for the Braves. Is it worth risking your superstar for a few weeks of baseball in September? Acuña wants to be out there, and we are sure he will lobby to return as soon as he's eligible if not before.
