As expected every spring training players come in with lofty expectations for the upcoming season. Whether it’s making 30+ starts in the rotation, hitting 30 home runs in a season, or improving their defense players tend to focus on an area to improve during the off-season.

For Atlanta Braves superstar, Ronald Acuña Jr. there’s truly not many areas of his game he can nitpick. However, in the latest episode of Behind the Braves on YouTube, Acuna Jr. clarified his expectations for the upcoming 2025 season and it’s something that every Braves fan can get behind.

Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. focused on health in 2025

Acuña Jr. stated that his number one goal for this season was to stay healthy. Of course fans know how impactful Acuna is when he’s on the field, but unfortunately, we’ve also found out how impactful his loss is when he’s out with injury. Two major knee surgeries and various other nagging ailments has kept RAJ from putting up even more gaudy career numbers.

He’s played in 120 regular season games just twice in his now seven year big league career. Not only would Braves fans happily take 120 games out of Acuna this year, but baseball fans in general need his electrical play on the field more. The last time he played most of a regular season, baseball fans got to witness one of the most historic seasons in the sport in Ronald’s 40/70 NL MVP 2023 season.

We still don’t know the exact timetable for Ronald’s return this season, but as he enters his age 27 season. We’re all hoping for some better luck on the injury front for Ronald. It’s hard when he plays the game as hard as he does, but he has mentioned tactics like easing up on the base paths in order to remain healthy as a possible solution in 2025.

If he’s on the field for the majority of this season, it makes his second goal much more attainable. Acuña Jr. simply wants to remain healthy and “put on a show” in 2025. So long as he returns and avoids any IL stints we all know that has a high probability of happening. Regardless, every update we get surrounding Acuna only hypes us up more to witness him on a baseball diamond once again.
