All-Star weekend brings out the creativity of many around the game of baseball. The Atlanta Braves are no exception to this. Unfortunately, the latest invention out the Braves' kitchen wasn't met with the resounding praise they anticipated or hoped for, although it certain got some attention.

The "Bless Your Heart Dog" was created for All-Star week festivities, and baseball fans on Reddit were left unimpressed. The new item on Truist Park's menu never got the support the Braves' were hoping, and instead had many fans looking for the nearest bathroom. To be fair, the premise of the food creation itself is a rather uninspiring one. It's a deep fried hot dog on a stick that was rolled in both hot Cheetos and Fruity Pebbles...not exactly your peanut butter and jelly level of combination.

Plenty of negative comments for Braves' latest food invention

Deep frying a hot dog to begin is odd, but coating it in hot Cheetos and Fruity Pebbles is basically a crime. Many fans would probably say "You'd have to pay me to eat that," rather than spending their hard-earned money on that abomination of food.

Some fans said the new food item sounded revolting, while others said it looked vile. Others said new food combos were often welcome, but this particular combo just never made much sense. It's understandable for the Braves to whip up a new dish for baseball fans during All-Star weekend, we just wish they picked a better item to roll out.

It's clear All-Star weekend in Atlanta had it's moments, but the new food was a swing and miss. One has to imagine with the plethora of negative feedback, the "Bless Your Heart Dog" is a short-term item on the Truist Park menu. Perhaps by the time All-Star weekend returns to Atlanta, the Braves will offer a much better food alternative to baseball fans hoping to enjoy the weekend without getting sick.
