Yonny Chirinos debuts for the Atlanta Braves as they welcome Milwaukee to Truist Park
The Atlanta Braves, following a five-game road trip, return to Truist Park as they begin a three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers this weekend. Recently acquired Yonny Chirinos will make his Braves debut against the Brew Crew.
Since coming out of the All-Star break, the Atlanta Braves have been very underwhelming so far in the second half of the season. Following a five-game road trip, the Braves are 3-7 in their last ten games, following a two-game sweep by the Red Sox in Boston. The team still has a 10-game lead in the NL East standings over the Philadelphia Phillies but the Braves need a find a way to get their momentum back.
The Braves return home to Truist Park this weekend as they begin a three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Braves have just recently played the Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee, taking two of the three games in that series. Let's see how the Brewers fare in Truist Park this weekend.
Pitching Matchup For Braves vs. Brewers
RHP Yonny Chirinos is expected to take the mound as the Braves' starting pitcher in Game 1. Chirinos was claimed off waiver by the Braves this past Sunday as they try to fix their bullpen woes. Today's series opener will mark his pitching debut with the Braves. Chirinos appeared in 15 games with his previous team, the Tampa Bay Rays, starting in four of them. For the season, he has a 4.02 ERA and a 5.52 FIP in 62.2 innings.
Meanwhile, for Milwaukee, RHP Adrian Houser will be the starting pitcher for the Brewers. Houser previously started for the Brewers in their win over the Braves in last week's series, striking out ten of Atlanta's batters. This season, Houser is 3-2 as a starter, recording a 3.86 ERA and a 4.22 FIP. Let's see how well he does this time around.
