The Atlanta Braves offense has emerged after a tough start to the second half. It has exploded in this series with the Brewers. Between games one and two, Atlanta scored 21 runs on 32 hits. That is more of what fans have come to expect from this offense.

They will look to continue that high-powered offense on Sunday and sweep the Brewers at Truist Park. A.J. Smith Shawver will make the start for the Braves and hope to have better success than his last time out for Atlanta.

He last pitched in an Atlanta uniform on June 23rd as he allowed 5 runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts through 3.1 innings. Not the best performance but we've seen Smith-Shawver show he can compete at the MLB level so things could go well for him.

His most recent start came last Sunday for the Gwinnett Stripers against Norfolk and he did not allow a run through his 5 innings of work. He allowed just 2 hits, walked 2 batters, and struck out 6 of them. Much better results for the 20-year-old starter.

He will be opposed by Milwaukee starter, Colin Rea. He has a 4.53 ERA on the season through 91.1 innings pitched. His FIP sits at 4.76 which indicates his ERA is fairly accurate.

His last start was on July 24th in Cincinnati and lasted 6 innings. Rea allowed 2 runs on 5 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. He will be facing a high-powered Braves offense that is on pace to break the MLB home run record and features the league leaders in homers and the assumed favorite for NL MVP.

This series finale kicks off at 1:35 PM EST and will be featured on Bally Sports South and MLB Network (out-of-market only). Braves fans can also listen to the game on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan and La Mejor 1600/1460/1130 AM.
