Several intriguing Braves prospects set to take part in 2024 Arizona Fall League

The rosters are out for the 2024 Arizona Fall League.

In the middle of the MLB Postseason occurring, many of baseball's top prospects will also be taking to the field during October for the annual Arizona Fall League, which is slated to begin October 7.

This season, prospects from the Atlanta Braves organization will be playing with the Peoria Javelinas, and will be joined on the team's roster by players from each of the Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, and Seattle Mariners organizations'.

Here are the Braves prospects who will be playing in the 2024 Arizona Fall League, as well was what each did during the minor league season this past year (Prospect rankings according to MLB Pipeline)

Drake Baldwin, David McCabe among Atlanta Braves prospects playing in 2024 Arizona Fall League

Drake Baldwin, Catcher

Atlanta's No. 5 overall prospect, Baldwin was likely the top hitter in the Braves system during the 2024 minor league season in which he slashed .276/.370/.423 with 16 HR, 88 RBI, two SB, and a 92:75 K:BB ratio across 124 games. A majority of the catcher's season came with Triple-A Gwinnett where he had a slash line of .298/.407/.484 across 72 games with 12 HR, 55 RBI, and a 54:52 K:BB ratio.

David McCabe, Third Baseman/First Baseman

McCabe, the Braves No. 13 prospect, missed a majority of the 2024 minor league season due to his recovery from injury, but still saw action in 35 games with Double-A Mississippi. The former fourth round pick however struggled over that stretch, slashing a combined .137/.284/.214 with two HR, nine RBI, and two SB, as well as a 42:24 K:BB ratio.

Adam Maier, Right-Handed Pitcher

A seventh round pick in 2022 by Atlanta, Maier, the Braves No. 17 prospect, saw his first professional action during the 2024 season with 19 starts between Low-A Augusta and High-A Rome. Across his 83.1 IP, the right-hander owned a combined 3-5 record with a 4.10 ERA and 78:25 K:BB ratio, while also limiting opponents to a .259 AVG against.

Hayden Harris, Left-Handed Pitcher

Harris, who is the Braves No. 27 prospect, made 41 relief appearances combined between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett during the 2024 season. During that stretch, the left-hander held a 3-4 record with a 4.64 ERA, a 69:25 K:BB ratio, and three saves across 42.2 IP, while also holding his opponents to a combined .258 AVG against.

Ryan Bourassa, Right-Handed Pitcher

Undrafted in 2023 out of South Dakota State, Bourassa is coming off his first full professional season where he made 31 combined relief appearances between the FCL Braves, High-A Rome, and Double-A Mississippi. The right-hander owned a combined 2-3 record with a 3.63 ERA, a 51:19 K:BB ratio, and six saves across 34.2 IP.

Isaac Gallegos, Right-Handed Pitcher

Taken in the 16th round by Atlanta back in 2023, Gallegos is also coming off his first full professional season where the right-hander made 18 relief appearances between the FCL Braves, Low-A Augusta, and High-A Rome. Gallegos over that span posted an 0-2 record with a 3.00 ERA, a 40:15 K:BB ratio, and two saves across 27 IP.

Landon Harper, Right-Handed Pitcher

The final Braves prospect to play in the Arizona Fall League is Harper, a 14th round pick from back in 2022 out of Southern Miss. Harper appeared in 32 games, six of which were starts, between High-A Rome and Double-A Mississippi, posting a combined 5-3 record with a 2.43 ERA, a 64:14 K:BB ratio, and one save across 77.2 IP.
