The Atlanta Braves took down the Rockies in game two of the series by a final score of 8-1 on Friday night. Atlanta's offense exploded on Friday night as Travis d'Arnaud hit 2 two-run homers and Eddie Rosario had a two-run homer of his own.

Jared Shuster pitched well Friday night with a final line of 5.2 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. The walks are still an issue for Shuster but all things considered, that was one of the better starts we've seen from Shuster this season. Atlanta will look to keep the win train rolling as Bryce Elder takes the mound on Saturday afternoon.

Starting pitchers for Braves vs Rockies Game Three

Bryce Elder will take to the mound for the Braves in game three of the series looking to earn his fifth win of the season. Elder struggled a bit in his last two starts as he has allowed 9 total runs over 11.1 innings pitched with three walks and nine strikeouts. Elder will likely bounce back into form as those kinds of starts have been rare for him in 2023.

His ERA currently sits at 2.69 on the season which has him at seventh best in all of Major League Baseball and second best ERA in the National League. He's been such a good surprise for the Atlanta Braves and has turned a big corner to become one of the bright spots of our rotation.

The Rockies will send Connor Seabold out to oppose Elder in his 15th game of the season. Seabold made his debut with the Red Sox in 2021 and appeared in a few games in 2022 as well. He was traded to the Rockies back in January of 2023 in exchange for a player to be named later and cash considerations.

Seabold currently holds a record of 1-2 with a 4.70 ERA across 53.2 innings pitched with 18 walks and 42 strikeouts. He features a four-seam fastball, slider, changeup, and curveball. In his last start in Arizona, he pitched 5.2 innings allowing one run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
