The Atlanta Braves series with the Miami Marlins has been a great one so far. Well, for the Braves at least. They won game two by a 7-0 final on Saturday. Atlanta has scored 23 runs in the first two games of the series so far.

Sunday will feature two of the best pitchers that baseball has to offer. Spencer Strider will face off against Sandy Alcantara and hopes to help the Braves sweep the Marlins and widen the gap between first and second place.

Games one and two have been very offense heavy with good pitching to keep Miami at bay. Sunday's game has the potential to be a low-scoring affair. However, with how the Braves have been performing during this win streak. Their first-inning dominance has been on full display this series and there has been no lack of home runs.

Starting pitchers for Braves vs Marlins

Spencer Strider looks to earn his 10th win of the season and continue with the great season he's had so far. Strider faltered a little bit there for a couple of starts but has gotten back to form over his last two games.

His ERA sits at 3.73 and has 143 strikeouts in 2023 so far. He pitched great in his last outing against the Twins. Strider went 7 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 10 strikeouts. His fastball command and velocity were back to the standard Strider and fans expected.

Alcantara is 3-6 on the season with a 4.82 ERA. His last start also lasted 7 innings and he allowed 1 run on 6 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Marlins ace pitched against the Braves back on May 2nd and went 5 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.

It could continue to be a slugfest for the Braves or this will be a pitcher's duel. Either way, fans will be treated to an exciting game on Sunday afternoon.
