Predicting how many wins the Atlanta Braves will have in 2024
Penciled in to be a favorite among NL teams, just how many wins will the Atlanta Braves tally in 2024?
A fun topic for today with the crew of the House that Hank Built! Today we predict the amount of wins the team will have in 2024!
The participants are once again: Chase Owens, Eric Cole, Fred Owens, Gaurav Vedak, Mitchell Barbee, Sage Broda, Shayne Nissen, Steven Teal, and myself Trent Dickeson.
We had a lot of fun with this one. The joys of cheering on a team that is built to win a championship makes predicting their season an exciting experiment.
How many games will the Atlanta Braves win in 2024?
Chase: Last year I predicted a 99-win season, and they surpassed that. Most projection models have them in the low 100s and upper 90s for 2024. I’m going to flip the script this year and be more optimistic than the projections. There’s just too much to like from this roster, so I’m predicting them to have a 105-win total for 2024.
Eric: I’ll go with an even 100 wins in 2024. You have to understand just how crazy it is to project any team to win 100 games in a season. In the entire history of the Braves franchise, they have gotten 100 or more wins just 10 times. However, two of those have come in the last two seasons and the Braves are arguably going to be better next season, so I’m expecting triple digits but can’t bring myself to go higher than that.
Mitchell: The optimist in me expects this team to be better than last year’s team. After all, the Braves were running out of three starting pitchers for three months. But when the benchmark is 104 wins, it’s hard to realistically predict more. I’ll follow Eric and say 100 wins, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s more like 105.
Sage: I believe the Braves will win 103 games. Namely, pitching will be more consistent and hopefully, the Braves will not have to rely on throwing young starters into the fire. The lineup can still do damage 1-9 and any given day vs. any given pitcher will make the Braves a tough out.
Gaurav: 102. Great offensive team with strong starting pitching, and an elite bullpen.
Steven: 100 wins. This team is going to continue to be an offensive force and pitching depth is going to help drive them to another impressive season.
Fred: I’ll say 100 as well.
Shayne: A lot. This has a chance to be another all-time team. 107 wins seems crazy but that’s what I’m going with. I think Chris Sale surprises some people and pushes this Braves team to the moon during the regular season.
Trent: Do the Braves still have Ronald Acuna Jr, Matt Olson, Austin Riley, Spencer Strider, Ozzie Albies, Max Fried, Sean Murphy, Michael Harris, and more? Yes? Alright it will be another good season. I will stay on trend and say 101 wins.
