As the July 30th trade deadline looms closer and closer, some questions remain about just what the Atlanta Braves might do.

Yes, the club will certainly be buyers at this year's deadline, but just how many moves will the Braves make? Will they address just pitching by adding an arm to the bullpen or rotation, or will they go get another piece such as an outfielder or shortstop?

Well, should the Braves choose to make multiple moves, here are three names from each division that could be intriguing trade targets at the deadline this season.

Atlanta Braves trade targets from every division in Major League Baseball

AL East

Bo Bichette, Toronto Blue Jays

The Braves might be in play for a shortstop at the trade deadline, and there is likely not a bigger name available in the AL East than Bichette from the Toronto Blue Jays. A two-time All-Star, Bichette does not hit free agency until 2026 and is currently slashing a combined .222/.275/.321 with four HR, 30 RBI, and five SB across 78 games this season, making his trade value at the moment probably as low as it will get.

Chad Green, Toronto Blue Jays

Another intriguing target from Toronto comes in the bullpen in Green, who is in the middle of a strong 2024 season in which he sports a 1.57 ERA, a 21:6 K/BB ratio, and four saves across 23 IP. The right-hander does also not hit free agency until 2026 and is an impact arm that Atlanta could add to their bullpen that has extensive postseason experience from his time with the New York Yankees.

Trevor Richards, Toronto Blue Jays

The third, and final, AL East name also comes from the Blue Jays in Richards, as Toronto is arguably the most likely seller of any team in the division. Another bullpen option, the right-hander is enjoying a solid season where he sports a 3.40 ERA and 47:17 K/BB ratio across 47.2 IP and is set to hit free agency at season's end.

AL Central

Erick Fedde, Chicago White Sox

While unsure if the Chicago White Sox will make star left-hander Garrett Crochet available in trade talks, their other top starter is potentially a name to watch for in Fedde, who is already familiar to the Braves due to his time with the Washington Nationals. The right-hander does not hit free agency until 2026 and currently owns a 2.99 ERA and 99:30 K/BB ratio across 111.1 IP.

Jack Flaherty, Detroit Tigers

Speaking of top starters from the AL Central, the Detroit Tigers are unlikely to make ace Tarik Skubal available, but could very easily flip Flaherty, who is set to become a free agent at season end, at the deadline. The right-hander has postseason experience from his time with the St. Louis Cardinals and is currently enjoying a strong 2024 season where he owns a 3.13 ERA and 119:16 K/BB ratio across 95 IP.

Tommy Pham, Chicago White Sox

We conclude the AL Central with another member of the White Sox, Tommy Pham, who is a veteran outfielder and a free agent at the season's end. Pham, who is an experienced and productive postseason player, has slashed .259/.332/.355 across 57 games in Chicago this season with four HR, 16 RBI, and five SB.

AL West

Mason Miller, Oakland Athletics

A popular name as we approach the deadline is star Oakland Athletics closer Mason Miller, who is likely to garner interest from almost every contender. The right-hander is under team control for numerous seasons, and will likely carry a high asking price during an All-Star season in which he holds a 2.27 ERA, a 70:14 K/BB ratio, and 15 saves across 39.2 IP with Oakland.

Brent Rooker, Oakland Athletics

Speaking of an Athletics player under team control for multiple years, Rooker is a name the Braves could potentially acquire to make a splash at the outfield position. Rooker is currently enjoying what is the best single season of his career, slashing .291/.369/.573 with 21 HR, 62 RBI, and five SB.

Kevin Pillar, Los Angeles Angels

Rounding out the AL West is a familiar face in Pillar, who has enjoyed a massive bounce back with the Los Angeles Angels after a rough start to the season with the White Sox. In Los Angeles, Pillar, who is a free agent at season end, has slashed .288/.340/.482 across 45 games with six HR, 26 RBI, and five SB.

NL East

Tanner Scott, Miami Marlins

The most likely NL East team to sell at the deadline is the Miami Marlins, with Tanner Scott, a reliever, likely the most in-demand player that the team will trade. Scott, a left-hander, is a free agent at the end of the 2024 season and is currently in the midst of his first-career All-Star campaign where he owns a 1.38 ERA, a 43:23 K/BB ratio, and 13 saves across 39 IP.

Dylan Floro, Washington Nationals

Another team likely to sell, the Washington Nationals have a few relief pitchers that could be potential targets for the Braves, but the one they should arguably look at is Floro. A veteran right-hander with a notable amount of postseason experience, the free agent at season's end currently holds a 2.11 ERA and 38:12 K/BB ratio across 47 IP so far this season.

Kyle Finnegan, Washington Nationals

A player who is still under team control for another season, we conclude with another member of the Nationals bullpen in Finnegan. Washington's closer, the right-hander currently owns a 2.45 ERA and 42:13 K/BB ratio, as well as 25 saves, across 40.1 IP so far this season.

NL Central

Ian Happ, Chicago Cubs

If the Braves want to make a splash by acquiring an outfielder, Happ might be a name to watch for if the Chicago Cubs make him available. Signed through the 2026 season, Happ is currently in the midst of arguably the best year of his career, slashing .243/.352/.458 with 15 HR, 57 RBI, and seven SB.

Nick Martinez, Cincinnati Reds

Should the Cincinnati Reds sell, Martinez might be an intriguing name to watch for. Holding a 2025 player option, Martinez has made 28 appearances for the Reds this season (five starts) and holds a 3.88 ERA and an impressive 56:9 K/BB ratio across 72 IP.

Brent Suter, Cincinnati Reds

Concluding the NL Central is a similar arm to Martinez from the Reds in Suter, who is a left-hander with a team option in 2025. Of his 37 appearances this season, three have been starts, with Suter owning an overall 3.73 ERA and 40:10 K/BB ratio across 50.2 IP so far this season.

NL West

Charlie Blackmon, Colorado Rockies

The most likely-to-sell team in the NL West is the Colorado Rockies, with Blackmon, a free agent at the end of the season, an intriguing outfield option from the club. Blackmon has slashed .256/.326/.411 across 72 games so far this season with five HR, 30 RBI, and five SB.

Cal Quantrill, Colorado Rockies

Arguably the top starting pitcher that the Rockies could offer via a trade is Quantrill, who does not hit free agency until 2026. Across 19 starts so far this season, the right-hander owns a 4.13 ERA and a 78:39 K/BB ratio across 102.1 IP.

Joc Pederson, Arizona Diamondbacks

Lastly, while arguably unlikely, if the Arizona Diamondbacks do end up selling at the deadline, then is a potential reunion with Pederson something that the Braves should do? Across 80 games with Arizona so far this season, Pederson, who has a mutual option for 2025, is slashing .273/.374/.498 with 13 HR, 39 RBI, and four SB.

Could any of these names potentially become Atlanta Braves soon at the 2024 MLB trade deadline? Stay tuned to House That Hank Built to find out.
