Welcome to House That Hank Built’s latest series: Guessing random Atlanta Braves players from the past! Take the opportunity to participate in our daily guessing game every day.

We will give you five hints at a random player who donned an Atlanta Braves jersey and see if you can guess from there! Have fun and no cheating! Here we go! 

Hint #1 (Career Length): This player spent a total of 10 seasons in the MLB. He is currently a free agent. During this time, he made appearances for the following teams: Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland A’s, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, and Atlanta Braves.

Hint #2 (Jersey Numbers): During his 10 seasons in the big leagues, this player wore the following jersey numbers: 7, 11, 2, 9, 3, 18, 8, and 4. He wore 7 with the Braves.

Hint #3 (Individual Accolades): This player was an all-star in 2019. He was also part of the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series team. 

Hint #4 (Braves Stats): This player was with the Braves in 2014. He appeared in 93 games where he hit .251 with 1 home run and 31 runs batted in. 

Hint #5 (Random Fact): This player was a left-handed hitting second baseman and third baseman. He stepped away from baseball for a while after college and fought his way back to quickly become a Braves fan favorite for a season.

Answer: Tommy La Stella 

Tommy La Stella made his Major League debut for the Atlanta Braves in 2014 at the age of 25. Five years later he made his first and only All-Star Game appearance. 

La Stella has a reputation for playing the game hard which is what earned him the identity of a fan favorite. He is currently a free agent heading into 2024 but his MLB career very well could be over.
