Marvin Freeman is long tenured relief pitcher born in the heart of Braves country in Jackson, Mississippi. He atteneded Jackson State University and was selected by the Phillies in the second round of the 1984 MLB draft.

Over his ten year major league career, Freeman posted a 6.0 bWAR, 35-28 record, and 4.64 ERA in his 221 games, 78 of which were starts.
