Answer: Steve Avery

Steve Avery began his MLB career with the Atlanta Braves in 1990 at the age of 20. When he first entered the league, the Braves were struggling but he became a key piece in leading them to their first ever World Series title in 1995.

While John Smoltz, Tom Glaving and Greg Maddux drew most of the attention, Steve Avery held his own in one of the best rotations the MLB has ever seen. In his seven years with the Braves, Avery posted two seperate 18 win seasons.

When you think of the Braves in the 90s, it is easy to talk about the top three starters in the rotation but Avery tends to undeservingly get left out.
