Hint #1 (Career Length): This player has spent a total of 8 seasons in the MLB. During this time, he has made appearances for the following teams: Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves.

Hint #2 (Jersey Numbers): During his 8 seasons in the big leagues, this player wore the following jersey numbers: 26, 28, 34 and 40. He wore 26 with the Braves.

Hint #3 (Individual Accolades): This player was never an all-star nor did he acquire any other individual award in his playing career. 

Hint #4 (Braves Stats): This player was with the Braves from 2005-2007. Over this time as a pitcher, he went 14-21 with a 6.15 ERA. 

Hint #5 (Random Fact): This player was a starting pitcher that spent most of his time with the Royals. He consistently stayed mediocre in his career, having a 4.00+ ERA every season he pitched in the majors. He also did not play from 2012-2014.

Answer: Kyle Davies 

Kyle Davies began his MLB career with the Atlanta Braves in 2005 at the young age of 21. He was with the team for two and a half seasons and did not have much success. 

Davies career numbers are not very good but to pitch eight years at the highest level something has to be working. He seemed to always do the bare minimum to keep his team in ballgames and sometimes that is all a starting pitcher needs to do.
