Answer: Ben Sheets
Ben Sheets was the 10th overall pick out of UL Monroe in 1999. He was with the Brewers from 2001-2008. Injuries caused him to step away from baseball for a little while. In 2010, the Oakland A’s took a chance on him and gave him 20 games to prove he still belonged.
Sheets did not play in the MLB in 2011 and joined the Atlanta Braves in 2012, taking one last stab at reviving his career. After going 4-4 in 9 games with the Braves and a 3.47 ERA, Ben Sheets’ professional career came to a close.
The four time all-star had a very memorable career, mostly with the Milwaukee Brewers. He is a player that we often forget put on a Braves uniform.
