We will give you five hints at a random player that donned an Atlanta Braves jersey and see if you can guess from there! Have fun and no cheating! This guy has been with the Braves? 

Hint #1: This player spent a decade in the Major Leagues. He spent the majority of his career with the Milwaukee Brewers but also made appearances for the Oakland A’s and Atlanta Braves. 

Hint #2: Over the course of his ten seasons, this player only wore two jersey numbers: 15 and 30. He was most known for wearing number 15 but wore number 30 for the Atlanta Braves.

Hint #3: This pitcher was an all-star four times in his ten seasons (2001, 2004, 2007, 2008). In 2004, he finished 8th in the National League Cy Young Award voting and led all of the MLB with a 8.25 strikeout to walk ratio. 

Hint #4: This player only appeared in 9 total games with the Atlanta Braves. He was with the team at age 33 in the 2012 season. 

Hint #5: This pitcher was known as a flamethrower in his younger days. He struck out 1,325 batters in his career.

Answer: Ben Sheets

Ben Sheets was the 10th overall pick out of UL Monroe in 1999. He was with the Brewers from 2001-2008. Injuries caused him to step away from baseball for a little while. In 2010, the Oakland A’s took a chance on him and gave him 20 games to prove he still belonged. 

Sheets did not play in the MLB in 2011 and joined the Atlanta Braves in 2012, taking one last stab at reviving his career. After going 4-4 in 9 games with the Braves and a 3.47 ERA, Ben Sheets’ professional career came to a close. 

The four time all-star had a very memorable career, mostly with the Milwaukee Brewers. He is a player that we often forget put on a Braves uniform.
