Hint #1 (Career Overview):

This former Braves player had a 16-season career in the majors. Half of that time was spent with the Atlanta Braves from 1992-1999. He also spent 7 seasons with the San Diego Padres from 2000-2006 and ended his career with the San Francisco Giants after the 2007 season.

Hint #2 (Awards):

Although this player began his MLB career with the Braves in 1992, he finished 3rd in Rookie of the Year voting in 1994. He only appeared in 13 games in 1992 and 22 games in 1993, obtaining his rookie status for the 1994 season. This player won a World Series Championship with the Braves in 1995. He was only an all-star one season and that was with the Padres in 2001.

Hint #3 (Power Hitter):

This former Braves player was best known for the power he could provide from the left side of the plate. He had 7 of his 16 seasons go for 20+ home runs. Hint #4 (Stastics while with the Braves):

This player had two primary positions throughout his career. He could be found in left field or at first base. While with the Braves, he posted a .281 batting average, hit 139 home runs, and tallied 450 RBIs. To prove he was known as a power hitter, he only stole 26 bases in those 8 seasons.

He collected a total of 684 hits, 140 doubles, and 18 triples in his time with Atlanta. He drew 301 walks and struck out 523 in a Braves uniform.

Hint #5 (Jersey Numbers Worn):

During his time with the Braves, this player wore #18. From 2000-2006 with the San Diego Padres, he wore #30 and in his lone season with the San Francisco Giants he sported #21.

Answer: Ryan Klesko

Ryan Klesko made his MLB debut on September 12th, 1992. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves straight out of high school in the 5th round of the 1989 draft. After spending 16 long seasons in the MLB, Klesko retired at the age of 36.

Over his career, Ryan Klesko hit .279 and collected over 1,500 hits with 278 home runs. He hung up the cleats just shy of 1,000 career RBIs (987).

Klesko may not have been an all-star in his time with the Braves but he is remembered by many thanks to the power he provided during the 90's, including the World Series Championship season where he belted 23 home runs during the regular season and 3 long balls in the fall classic alone.
