Answer: Shelby Miller
Shelby Miller began his MLB career with the St. Louis Cardinals at the age of 21 in 2012. Atlanta acquired him in 2015 and he had an interesting season for the Braves, to say the least.
In 2015, Shelby Miller went 6-17 on the mound and led the MLB in losses for starting pitchers. However, he still made the National League All-Star team. Miller got little to no run support each outing, hence the poor record.
He managed to post a 3.02 ERA on the season which was one of the best in all of baseball. After his impressive season with the Braves, his trade value was so high that Atlanta had no option but to deal him. Especially since they could acquire a former #1 overall draft pick in Dansby Swanson.
Ender Inciarte was also part of the Shelby Miller deal to Arizona. Inciarte and Swanson both were huge pieces during the Braves rebuild and played significant roles that led to Atlanta taking the World Series title in 2021.
