We will give you five hints at a random player that donned an Atlanta Braves jersey and see if you can guess from there! Have fun and no cheating! Let us know how many hints it took.

Hint #1: This player spent a total of 16 seasons in the MLB. He made appearances for the following teams: Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies, Tampa Bay Rays, San Deigo Padres, Washington Nationals and Houston Astros.

Hint #2: In his 16 season career this player wore the following jersey numbers: 45, 9, 14, 20, and 19. He had two seperate stints in Atlanta. The first time he was with the Braves he wore number 45. His next time around, he wore number 19.

Hint #3: This player made the All-Star game twice in his career (1995 and 1998). He also won three Silver Slugger Awards (1995, 1997, 1998). Finally, he finished 18th in Most Valuable Player voting in 1995, 22nd in 1997, 11th in 1998, and 23rd in 2004. All of those seasons were with the Colorado Rockies.

Hint #4: This player was a third basemen and shortstop. He hit and threw right handed.

Hint #5: We previously mentioned this player had two stints with the Braves. He began his career in Atlanta from 1991 to 1992 where he only played in 21 games. He came back to the Braves for the 2002 and 2003 seasons where he played 290 games in that stretch.

Answer: Vinny Castilla

Vinny Castilla made his MLB debut in 1991 for the Atlanta Braves at the age of 24. He was with the Braves from 1991 through 1992 where he only saw action in 21 games.

After having some success elsewhere, Castilla re-joined the Braves organization in 2002. He played for Atlanta for two more seasons (2002 and 2003). During his four seasons with the Braves, Castilla played in a total of 311 games.

He hit .254 over this stretch with 34 home runs and 138 runs batted in. Castilla was most certinaly strikeout prone during his time with the Braves as he was retired on strikes 161 times in these 311 games. He bounced around a little more after leaving the Braves again and retired with the Rockies in 2006 where he spent the majority of his career.
