We wanted to create something along the lines of the popular game ‘Immaculate Grid’ related to Braves baseball only. Read the hints and see how many it takes to guess the player!
The daily trivia game ‘Immaculate Grid’ has been a fun and exciting challenge for baseball fans. We wanted to create something similar related to the Atlanta Braves. Here is the debut of our new series: Guess Who! (Braves Edition).
We will give you five hints at a random player that donned an Atlanta Braves jersey and see if you can guess from there! Have fun and no cheating!
Hint 1: This player had a 12 season career in the MLB. 9 of those seasons were spent with the Atlanta Braves. 2 seasons were spent with Kansas City Royals and 1 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Hint 2: Even though this player had a long and successful career, he never once appeared in an All-star game. He also never won any MLB award (Gold Glove, MVP, etc.)
Hint 3: This player actually had two stints on the Braves major league roster . His first stint was from 2006–2012. He retired from baseball after playing his final season with the Atlanta Braves in 2018.
Hint 4: This player was a relief pitcher.
Hint 5: This submarine style reliever posted a career 3.10 ERA. His best season with the Braves was in 2007 when he had a 1.80 ERA in 80 games.
Answer: Peter Moylan. Moylan was a trusted reliever for the Braves for many years. He was a great addition to the bullpen in the midst of the seasons where the relief core consisted of Eric O’Flaherhty, Johnny Venters and Craig Kimbrel.
Moylan has found a new role with the Braves organization. Immediately after retiring from the MLB, Peter Moylan began broadcast work for the Atlanta Braves on Fox Sports South (now Bally Sports South). Moylan can usually be found on Braves Live! Pregame and Postgame or even in the broadcast booth beside play-by-play announcer Brandon Gaudin.
