Eddie Rosario earns NL Player of the Week honors

The Atlanta Braves fan favorite has scuffled a bit in 2023 but he has been on an absolute tear recently and that earned him NL Player of the Week honors.

The Atlanta Braves have been no strangers to getting accolades and breaking records in 2023. They added yet another player to that list as Eddie Rosario was named NL Player of the Week for the week of August 14th to August 20th.

Julio Rodriguez from the Seattle Mariners was named AL Player of the Week. It's wild to see Rosario mentioned in that company with how up and down his season has been offensively.

Rosario hit .524/.583/1.048 and posted a 1.631 OPS with 11 hits including 3 home runs, 10 RBI, and 6 runs scored. He was a big part of the Braves series against the Giants this weekend hitting a clutch two-run homer in the eighth inning to propel Atlanta to a 6-5 win.

Eddie had a tough first couple of months but exploded in the month of June. Unfortunately, that didn't carry over into the month of July where he batted .164/.200/.299 with a 29 wRC+ and .499 OPS.

The month of August has been a completely different story as he has been scorching hot at the plate with a slash line of .339/.403/.571, .974 OPS and 162 wRC+. He and Marcell Ozuna have been major contributors to the offensive success of the team this month.

Rosario is the sixth Brave to earn the honor of Player of the Week this season. That sets yet another single-season franchise record for the Atlanta Braves organization. It's just expected that this team will find a way to break records.

"Eddie Money" is now batting .260/.310/.480 with 96 hits including 19 home runs, .790 OPS, and a 108 wRC+ in 110 games this season. Rosario hasn't shown any signs of slowing down and I wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon.
