The Atlanta Braves had hoped to bounce back from a tough game-one loss in Detroit but Mother Nature had other ideas on Tuesday night. The game was initially set to begin at 6:40 pm EST but ended up being delayed for almost two hours and had a tentative start time of 8:45 pm EST.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen as the tarp was put back on the field and eventually, the game was postponed officially around 9 pm EST. The Tigers announced that the game would be made up on Wednesday as part of a doubleheader. Game one of that doubleheader is set for 1:10 pm EST at Comerica Park.

Spencer Strider will take the mound in game one and square off with Tigers rookie, Reese Olson. Strider is looking to bounce back from a rough outing against the New York Mets. You can check out our preview for that game here.

Game two of the doubleheader will feature A.J. Smith-Shawver and Michael Lorenzen. This will be Smith-Shawver's second start for the Atlanta Braves after an impressive first start against the Nationals last week. He will face off with Michael Lorenzen who is 2-3 on the year with a 3.75 ERA for the Tigers.

The night off will be welcome for the Braves so they can have some extra rest for their bullpen and have more time to prepare and recover after that tough loss in game one. Sweeping a doubleheader can be tough but I think the Braves have the ability to do so and they'll want to avoid losing a series to the Tigers.

The Braves will head home to Truist Park once this series concludes as they welcome in the Colorado Rockies for a quick 4-game homestand. Atlanta then takes a road trip to Philadelphia to face off against their division rivals and then heads to Cincinnati before returning home to Atlanta.
