Last night turned into an absolute slugfest in the Great American Smallpark. The Atlanta Braves hit a big red machine and ultimately fell short in a shootout. The back-and-forth affair ended in a 11-10 Reds victory, as Cincinnati extended their league-best win streak to 12 games.

The Reds seem to be taking control of the NL Central. The Braves offense has been on fire in the month of June, however, last night they just happened to run into an offense that was a little hotter. Hopefully, the Braves continue to roll and get a little better pitching performance from Shuster.

Braves vs Reds Pitching Matchup

Jared Shuster will be looking to find a way to keep a potent Reds lineup in check. Cincinnati has been crushing every pitcher that has attempted to slow them down, so Shuster will have his work cut out for him to say the least. In his last start, Shuster went 5.2 innings of one-run ball, but once again had worrisome strikeout numbers. If Shuster wants to keep the Braves in this ballgame he's going to have to get some more strikeouts, because everything the Reds have put in play recently has been hit very hard.

Graham Ashcraft will pitch against the Braves for the second time this season. In his first outing, he went six innings while allowing two earned runs and striking out seven. It's been a rough stretch for Ashcraft, as he has failed to reach the sixth inning since early May. With the pitching matchup we have today I'd expect a game very similar to the high-octane offensive affair we got last night.
