After a dominant shutout win with Bryce Elder on the mound yesterday, the Atlanta Braves are hoping that Kyle Wright can bring more of that same energy when they take on Marlins for the second game of their three game set on Wednesday.

Fortunately for the Braves, they avoided a potential catastrophe as Ronald Acuna Jr. was back in the lineup after getting hit by a pitch against the Mets that required him to get a bunch of scans done on his shoulder. There was even more good Ronnie news as he was named NL Player of the Month earlier today.

Braves vs. Marlins Pitching Matchup

Kyle Wright is running it back against the Marlins as he faced them in his last start where he only went three innings before the rain came and ended his night early in the Braves' 5-4 loss. It was a shame, too, because Wright was through three scoreless innings with six strikeouts before the weather took him out of the game.

The Marlins have very limited amounts of at-bats against Wright and no one has hit him particularly well, although Garrett Cooper does have a homer off of him in his career and Jorge Soler is both scary when he is on and has a couple hits off of Kyle in his career.

Opposing Wright on Wednesday is Braxton Garrett who pitched against Wright in that same rain delayed game and who also went three shutout innings before his night was cut short. Garrett is another one of those guys that the Braves don't have a ton of plate appearances against, although Vaughn Grissom and Ozzie Albies seem to see him well enough and Ronnie is hitting everything hard right now.
