Braves News: Projecting the 2023 Braves, Trevor Bauer, more
The weekend went by mostly without incident for the Atlanta Braves as everyone prepares to report to Spring Training. However, we did have a pretty intriguing anecdote come out regarding Brian Snitker and it had nothing to do with the contract extension he just signed. Snitker was at an event recently and was asked whether he thought the Braves would ever be interested in signing Trevor Bauer. To the surprise of exactly no one, Snit shot that down with the quickness.

Elsewhere on the site, we had a pair of articles go up talking about our predictions for the Atlanta Braves going into the 2023 season. First, we took our best stabs at guessing how many games the Braves would win. With the Braves bringing a roster loaded with high end talent both on the pitching and hitting side, it is fair to say that, as a staff, we are decidedly optimistic.
After that, we went one step further and tried to predict how the National League East standings were going to shake out this year. As we found out last year, winning a bunch of games is not a guarantee of anything in this division with two other teams (the Mets and Phillies) looking strong and definitely going for it. While we are optimistic, this division race is going to be a must-follow for baseball fans everywhere.

Speaking of the Phillies, they added some more depth to their roster by signing Josh Harrison to a one year deal on Sunday. Harrison's days as All-Star as he was when he was with the Pirates are behind him, but he does have some defensive versatility and was at least passable (if unexciting) at the plate last year for the White Sox.
This is also the time of year when team's make last ditch efforts to avoid arbitration hearings before they get started next week. The Rays have certainly been hard at work doing that with a few guys and now the Yankees got a deal done to avoid arbitration with Gleyber Torres. Torres will make just shy of $10 million during the 2023 season.
