Dennis Santana's career with the Atlanta Braves was short-lived as he was claimed off of waivers by the Minnesota Twins on Sunday afternoon. Santana was acquired by the Braves in the off-season via trade with the Rangers. Texas received cash considerations in return.
The Braves avoided arbitration with Santana after acquiring him by agreeing to a one-year deal worth $1 million. Santana was originally signed by the Dodgers and made his MLB debut in 2018. He made 118 appearances for the Rangers over the previous two seasons. However, he had a rough end to the season in 2022.
With the Braves bullpen having some great options to choose from, it makes sense that some of these fringe options may not make the team or stay on the roster. Spring Training is just getting started so there will be more moves to come. Keep your eyes posted on House that Hank Built for all your Atlanta Braves news!
