It is no secret that the Atlanta Braves are having issues in their rotation. From the looks of things, Max Fried and Kyle Wright are going to be on the injured list until at least July with Wright potentially being out longer and when ANY team loses two of their top starters for a prolonged period of time, it is going to have some less than desirable results.

After throwing a couple bullpen games, the Braves decided to make a move to shore up their rotation when Brian Snitker announced last night that Jared Shuster was going to get called up to start today's game. The only thing we had to figure out was what the roster move was going to be and this morning, we got our answer.

It looks like Danny Young is the guy the Braves have designated as their go-to when it comes to the shuttle between the big league club and Triple-A and he fits the bill here. Young threw multiple innings last night in the Braves' 12-0 win over the Rangers which allowed the team to rest their beleaguered bullpen. That also meant that Young wasn't going to be available for a day or two anyways, so he was the easy choice to send down to make room for Shuster.

What can the Atlanta Braves expect from Jared Shuster?

One hopes that Jared Shuster will look like the guy that garnered a lot of attention in spring training for the Braves, but his time in Triple-A this year has been decidedly mixed. He does have two scoreless starts for Gwinnett on his ledger, but he also has some starts that were decidedly less great and his first two starts in the big leagues didn't go TERRIBLY but weren't great, either.

Aside from Shuster's stuff other than his changeup not being overpowering, his biggest issue this season has been walks. Normally, he hasn't been a guy to give up a ton of free passes, but he has walked 14 batters in 24.2 innings of work this season and he had issues with walks early this season in the big leagues as well. Hopefully he can get that sorted out or this could be a short cameo appearance in the big leagues yet again.
