Braves News: Brandon Gaudin named new play-by-play voice of Braves baseball telecasts
While most of the news about the Braves broadcasts of late has been in regards to the impending bankruptcy faced by several Bally Sports regional sports networks, up until today we didn't even know who was going to be the play-by-play broadcaster for the Braves with Chip Caray moving on to call games for the Cardinals.
Well, Bally Sports and Bally Sports Southeast have indeed found a new voice of Atlanta Braves telecasts, naming Brandon Gaudin as the next play-by-play announcer for Braves baseball.
Gaudin has worked the last seven years as a broadcaster for Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network, broadcasting NFL, MLB, and college football and basketball games. He previously served as the primary voice for Georgia Tech football, men's basketball, and baseball games from 2013-2016.
Fans of the Madden NFL franchise might recognize Gaudin's voice as well, with him serving as the play-by-play voice for the EA Sports title since 2017.
In a statement published by Bally Sports, Gaudin said:
“Today is the realization of a childhood dream,” said Gaudin. “I get to be behind the mic for the team I grew up idolizing. And the team who fostered my love for both sports and broadcasting. I’m grateful to both the Braves and Bally Sports for this incredible opportunity. I cannot wait to work alongside this team and talented broadcast crew.”
Braves President and CEO Derek Schiller in the same statement said:
“We welcome Brandon into the Braves family as well as our broadcast booth,” said Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves President and CEO. “The Braves have had a legendary lineup of broadcasters throughout our history and we are excited to find someone who is familiar with our past from growing up a Braves fan and respecting those who came before him.”
Gaudin replaces long-time Braves play-by-play announcer Chip Caray, who took the same role with the St. Louis Cardinals earlier this year.
