According to the team's transactions log, the Atlanta Braves made a depth move at the minor league level recently, as the club signed free agent Skye Bolt to a minor league deal back on February 23. A player who has seen time at the major league level, Bolt was also assigned to Triple-A Gwinnett on the same day.

Bolt, a 30-year-old outfielder, comes to Atlanta with 81 career games at the MLB level, a majority of which have come with the Oakland Athletics. Across that span, Bolt holds a combined slash line of .156/.205/.266 with five HR, 17 RBI, and seven SB, with 76 of those games having come across the 2021-22 seasons.
Bolt also made his MLB debut back in 2019 with a limited amount of action, where he was rated as the Athletics No. 19 prospect at the time according to MLB Pipeline.
An Atlanta native who is a former fourth-round pick from the 2015 MLB Draft out of North Carolina, Bolt last appeared in an MLB game back in 2022 where he played in 42 games as a member of the Oakland Athletics. Across those 42 games, Bolt slashed .198/.259/.330 with four HR, 13 RBI, and five SB.
As for last season, Bolt saw action across 64 games with Triple-A Nashville in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, and had a bit of a bounce back 2023 campaign. That included a .257/.359/.367 slash line with three HR, 23 RBI, and three SB, along with drawing 33 walks compared to 60 strikeouts.
Looking ahead, Bolt, as mentioned previously, was assigned to Triple-A Gwinnett in late-February, and will begin the 2024 season with the Stripers. Bolt will likely be an outfield depth option for the Braves in 2024, with a potential call-up to Atlanta at some point this season a possibility in a bench role.
